The Chairman of the General Union of Commercial Chambers in Libya, Mohammed Al-Raied, said a delegation of Libyan businesspersons will visit Algeria at the beginning of 2017 in order to coordinate with the country the process of importing Algerian commodities into the Libyan markets.

Al-Raied added that the Libyan authorities have already taken the needed measures in that regard, especially the Customs Department.

“There is a strong will on the part of the Algerian businesspersons to export their country’s food commodities and construction equipment to Libya with competitive prices that can be rival to European and other neighboring countries’ products.” He indicated in a statement.

The Algerian Organizations Chairpersons Forum signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Union of Commercial Chambers in Libya two days ago aiming at stepping up the commercial cooperation and economic exchanges between the two countries.

It is noteworthy that the prices of food commodities, clothes, construction equipment and other goods have rocketed starting at the beginning of 2016 with the shortages of the foreign currencies at the banks and their soaring exchange rates in the black market because Libya relies 85% on importing commodities from abroad.
