The Libyan Civil Aviation Authority signed on Thursday a contract with Techno Sky, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Italian air navigation service provider Enav, to construct 2 control towers at Tripoli-based Mitiga Airport.

The contract was signed in Tripoli by the Chairman of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority Nasir Eddin Shaib Al-Ein and Roberta Neri, the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Enav S.p.A.

Sources from Mitiga Airport said the Italian company will build an air traffic control tower and import another mobile ATC tower for Mitiga Airport as part of renovation works of the airport.

The total value of the contract was not disclosed.

The signing ceremony was attended by Libyan Transport Minister Milad Maatuq, the Italian Ambassador in Libya Giuseppe Perrone, and Souq Joma mayor Hisham Bin Yosef.
