Parents will receive their child allowances for nine-month in one batch on the occasion of Ramadan, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah announced, on Monday, as he congratulated the Libyans celebrating this holy month.

The PM said in a statement broadcasted by the HAKOMITNA platform that the first three months of the child's financial aid have already been deposited. The government will disburse the amount for the other six months before Ramadan, he confirmed.

Dbeibah, however, urged merchants to maintain stability in the market as fears that the government's decision may push even further the already sky-high food prices, which usually surge over increased Ramadan demand.

Meanwhile, the head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, vowed to implement the decision concerning the financial aid provided for wives and children before the month of Ramadan.

Shakshak proposed during a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Libya Monday to disburse the amount in two installments, provided that the second payment should not exceed mid-Ramadan.
