The parallel Audit Bureau of the House of Representatives announced the formation of a coordination and communication committee with the legitimate Audit Bureau in Tripoli.
The Information Office of the parallel eastern Audit Bureau said on their official Facebook page on Tuesday that the head of the bureau, Omar Abed Rabbo, issued a decision to appoint the top adviser of the bureau to head the committee, which will consist of four members.
Abed Rabbo added that the committee will monitor public expenditure and assess the performance of financial entities who observe spending.
The parallel Audit Bureau said that this decision aims to overcome the prevailing division of the institution and to achieve comprehensive control and effective public spending and standardize the operational plan for 2018.
Earlier, the head of the Tripoli-based Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, issued a decision two days ago to form a committee to coordinate and communicate with the parallel Audit Bureau in Bayda in order to unify efforts and end the state of division within the institution.
