The Algerian Foreign Minister, Sabri Boukadoum, said his country was finalizing logistical and technical preparations for the reopening of Deb-deb -Ghadames border with Libya, adding on the margins of the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum Saturday that they two countries are also working to finalize the reopening of the maritime line between Algiers and Tripoli for goods transportation, according to Algerian News Agency.

Boukadoum reiterated that his country hopes for boosted economic cooperation with Libya to reach investments and partnership in different areas, adding that Algeria has taken measures to provide legal and institutional framework for all businesspersons from the two countries to launch their projects for the benefit of the Libyan and Algerian people.

The Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum was inaugurated on Saturday in Algiers in the presence of the Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Huweij, as well as over 300 Libyan and Algerian businesspersons.

Al-Huweij told the Forum that the reopening of the border between the two countries would boost economy, calling for resuming flights between Libya and Algeria, establishing maritime and air lines, and launching a free zone between the two neighboring countries."
