The Audit Bureau has managed to return five billion dinars back to the treasury following a recent decision that demanded a freeze and a reorganization of the country’s assets and accounts.

The head of the media bureau in the Audit Bureau, Ahmed Al-Dayekh, made clear that the decision is resultant from the inconvenience that the Audit Bureau depicted in the governmental organizations which kept budget surplus and declined to return it to the state accounts at the end of the financial year. This budget surplus was used in corrupt contracts and bargains, he declared.

It is also expected that the Audit Bureau will manage to return to the treasury another two billion dollars sum, which would be vital to regaining some of the long-lost resources and use them as a backup for the government to fulfill its promises to the people in the current deficit of the budget.
