The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah, met Tuesday with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi in Tripoli in the presence of House of Representatives member, Abu Bakr Saied.

The meeting discussed challenges facing the oil sector and debts of the NOC and its firms in order to pay the dues of workers and local as well as international service companies.

Al-Lafi reiterated support of the Presidential Council for the NOC to back up the economy leading stability in the county, while Sanallah stressed that the NOC remains committed to maintaining high rates of oil production to provide the necessary resources for the country and boost its economy.

Sanallah said earlier this week that financial debts of the NOC became a trouble as the budget of the NOC to do maintenance work in oilfields and to carry out development projects wasn't transferred and thus, this would threaten keeping output at the current rates.
