The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir and his deputy Ali Al-Habri discussed with ambassadors of the European Union, United States, Egypt, Spain and Germany in a video conference call the latest developments of unifying the CBL, in the presence of the Advisor of the UN Secretary General, Stephanie Williams.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank as part of the economic working group of Berlin Conference.

Al-Kabir and Al-Habri reviewed the progress of the unification process of the CBL with the assistance of the US firm, Deloitte as an assistant and advisor.

"It's important that the CBL is unified. It helps the political process under the auspices of the UNSMIL and the stability of Libya. All financial and sovereign institutions in Libya must remain unified and independent." The attendees reiterated, expressing willingness to support all efforts that aim at stability and unification.
