An agreement to end the sit-in protest outside Mellitah Oil and Gas Complex has been reached.

Elders from Zuwara, Sabratha and Al-Ajilat sat down together Monday and agreed to transfer the demands of the protesters to the board of directors of the complex.

They also agreed to task oil facilities' forces from Al-Zawiya to guard the complex.

Protesters from the Amazigh city of Zuwara shut down Mellitah Oil and Gas Complex on Monday, demanding jobs and that the CEO of the complex should be from their city.

The Mellitah Oil and Gas Complex is jointly run by the National Oil Corporation and Italy's Eni. It is located some 22 km east of Zuwara.
