Abu Attifel oil field, which is run by the Mellitah Oil and Gas Company, has resumed production with a capacity of 6000 barrels per day.

Production is expected to increase next week to higher levels, in conjunction with the resumption of oil companies’ production operations.

Reuters quoted an oil source as saying that the resumption of production will be gradual, and that the production at the field had previously reached between 50 thousand and 60 thousand barrels per day, slightly less than the maximum production capacity of 70 thousand barrels per day.

The National Oil Corporation lifted the force majeure on Thursday for production at the field after it was imposed 10 days ago as a result of handover of oil ports to the parallel oil corporation.
