The Head of the General Culture Authority, Hassan Onis, has met with the Consul General of Turkey to discuss facilitating visa procedures for youths working at the culture authority, who are targeted in its training plan for the year 2021.

The matter was discussed during Onis's visit to the Turkish consul on Sunday morning, accompanied by Muhammad Al-Madouli, Director of the Media and Communication Department at the authority, to review strengthening the strategic alliance between the two countries at all levels, according to a statement by the General Culture Authority on Facebook.

The Director of the Media and Communication Department at the culture authority, Mohamed Al-Madouli, said in a statement to The Libya Observer that the meeting touched upon the conduct of visa procedures for media professionals and employees of the cultural authority to attend training workshops in Turkey, revealing that the first batch of trainees is due to travel next month.

According to Al-Madouli, the two parties discussed the reconstruction of some ancient Ottoman buildings, in addition to other joint projects in the framework of strengthening cooperation in the cultural aspect such as publishing books of shared history, noting that some books are currently at print including "Istanbul in the Arab Eyes."

For his part, the director of the Human Resources Department at the culture authority, Omar bin Rajab, said in statements to The Libya Observer that their training plan for 2020/2021 also targets young people in civil society organizations.

He explained that the courses cover various disciplines, including the technical and media fields, confirming that communication with the Turkish side is on to harmonize cooperation in this aspect.
