A young man by the name Al-Mahdi Abdeljalil was found Friday in his apartment in Al-Keesh area in Benghazi with a slit throat after his belongings and car had been stolen.

The Head of the Investigation Bureau of Fawaihat Police Station Essam Al-Abedi said they had received information about the guy's apartment in 7000 Units area in Al-Keesh. adding that they arrived in there and found the body with a slit throat.

Al-Abedi added that the 22-year-old young man is a Tobruk resident and moved to Benghazi last year to study medicine at the Arab Medical University.

Meanwhile, Al-Jalaa Hospital said it had received two bodies - one of whom was stabbed to death and the second was slaughtered. Both in Benghazi.

The stabbed person was identified as Othman Najim (42) who was found in Sidi Khalifa, security sources said.

They added that the two bodies will be seen by forensics for further investigation and infraction.

Crime rates have been on the rise over the last years as security vacuum is widening day in and day out with too many weapons being freely used by all kinds of people in the city.
