Unknown gunmen have murdered a civilian man in Benghazi, medical sources reported.

Officials from Al-Jala Hospital said the gunmen sprayed the man with bullets in Al-Salmani neighbourhood for unknown reasons.

The man was identified as Mahmoud Ben Shetwan, a print shop owner who had taken refuge in Tripoli since the beginning of Dignity Operation.

After his return to his Benghazi home, he was accused by his neighbours, who are said to be from the Madkhali group, of being an ISIS member.

Before his murder, he was arrested by security forces on alleged charges of terror links, but he was released later after the accusations came out to be false.
