A Libyan man has been brutally killed in South Africa.

Local media reports said the 29-year-old man was shot dead in Morningside, northern Johannesburg, on Wednesday evening.

He was identified as Waleed Dweeb, a student at South African Flight Training Academy.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said on Thursday the man was shot in his car on First Street in Morningside after leaving Sandton City.

The victim had bullet wounds on his neck.

The real reason behind the crime is yet to be known, but sources said the notorious Rolex gang is suspected to be behind his murder after robbing him of his “fake” Rolex watch.
