Tripoli-based Special Deterrence Force has released a video of the infamous gangster from Zintan town, whose family is behind the closure of oil fields.

Osama Dahish, a.k.a Osama Gurj, 32, is a member of so-called Petroleum Facilities Guard of the Western Region, a militia group from Zintan that seizes a number of oil fields.

The 32-year-old criminal is notorious for abduction and human smuggling. In one of his crimes, he and other criminals abducted a man from Harsha town and forced his family to pay a ransom of LYD 1 million.

Gurj is also a human smuggler; he transports migrants from both Bani Walid town in northwest of Libya and Brak town in the south to Al-Motrad and Sabratha where they start their journey to Europe. He gets thousands of dollars for each trip he facilities.

Now the Gurj family is closing the three main oil fields of El Feel, Sharara and Hamada causing state losses of about LYD 160 million dollars in the first week of closure.

According to oil sources, the oil militia family is demanding the release of Osama before they reopen the fields, but they made other requests to cover up the real reason of closure.

The National Oil Corporation has filed a formal complaint with the Attorney General's Office against the leaders of the armed militias responsible for the closure.
