A man from Tripoli’s Souq Al-Joma’a neighbourhood has been brutally killed by the notorious militia group of Al-Kaniyat after his arrival in Tarhuna city to search for his missing sons.

Local media sources said the father, identified as Mustafa Bel Reesh, was killed by a gunshot to the head by Al-Kaniyat gunmen after a brief detention. His body was handed over to the Libyan Red Crescent and he was laid to rest yesterday.

Heartbroken Bel Reesh decided to go to Tarhuna in a bid to exert social efforts with some acquaintances to release his two sons, Hosam and Khaled, who had been abducted by Al-Kaniyat on alleged charges of backing forces of the Government of National Accord.

According to neighbours, Hosam and Khaled went to Tarhuna some days ago to express condolences to some friends. Their fate is not yet known.

Despite being civilians, Khalifa Haftar-owned Al-Hadat TV channel published the names of the two abducted men in its fabricated list of GNA victims killed in clashes in south Tripoli on Sunday.
