A Dutch woman identified as Yvonne Snijter has gone missing in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, local social media pages and Dutch media have reported.
Snijter was last seen at around 10pm on Friday, a day before Ramadan, in Caffe De Roma in the old town.
She is the founder of Al Eureka, an independent education center in Tripoli. Her friends said she drives a Black 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe and is known to be very social.
NL Times, a Dutch news website, reported that the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware of her disappearance and is now investigating the incident.
“We are working on it and are trying to find out what is going on", a foreign ministry spokesperson told the website, adding their job won’t be easy because of Libya’s security situations.
