The Libyan News Agency of Al-Thanni government in the east has reported that Benghazi police department has caught some of the city’s cops red-handed as they were trying to sell a car from the Benghazi Security Department in the market.

The news agency reported the head of the media office of the criminal investigation department, Walid Al-Arfi, said the city’s police patrols busted the cops after they tried to steal a Toyota pertaining to the department.

“The corrupted cops had reported that their Toyota was burnt in one of the frontlines before they got caught trying to sell it.” Al-Arfi added.

He indicated that upon tracking the information regarding the car, it turned out it was hidden in a farm in Benghazi suburbs, and then the police stormed the farm and found the car along with the cops.

The cops were on a deal to sell it to somebody for huge sum of money, Al-Arfi concluded.
