Armed robbers stormed Al-Hamdi restaurant in Benghazi’s Qawarsha district on Monday, killing an Egyptian worker and wounding seven others.

One of the survivors told Bawabt Alwasat news website that unknown gunmen stormed the restaurant and started firing heavily to frighten the restaurant goers and easily steal their possessions.

He explained that he tried to escape from the back door with his friend, but an attacker chased them and shot them in the legs before stealing their money and mobile phones.

“When the attackers escaped, I returned to the restaurant and found an Egyptian man called Abdullah covered in blood after being killed,” he stated, adding that six Egyptians and one Libyan were wounded in the shooting.

Local authorities did not comment on the bloody incident.
