The Libyan capital, Tripoli, has been the scene for 1038 crimes, 426 of which were unresolved, reported the Tripoli Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB).

The annual report said there had been 676 missing persons during 2017 and only 100 returned, while the rest remained missing, with Abu Salim region registering the highest number by 110 missing persons - 88 of whom have not returned yet.

It also indicated that 68 unidentified bodies were registered out of 74 total ones.

The CIB's report revealed as well that there had been 1233 stolen cars registered in 2017 and only 109 of them were returned to their owners, pointing out that the number of the cars stolen with force was 615 ones.

"We have sent 243 crimes to the Public Prosecution, with robbery and robbery using force on the top of those cases by 130 followed by 39 forgery and blackmailing cases and then 28 murders."
