NCDC recommends reinforcing precautionary measures

The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has recommended reinforcing precautionary measures of wearing masks in public places and physical distancing in the Tripoli area.

In its weekly report, the NCDC called for quickly raising the number of daily PCR tests for COVID-19 by including the various tests conducted in public as well as private sectors, to raise the center's ability to detect cases.

Human Rights Watch calls for one-year extension of the fact-finding mission to Libya

Human Rights Watch has considered the decision to renew the mandate of the UN Fact-Finding Mission on Libya, for 9 months is too short, and insufficient at the moment.

It urged the UN Security Council to extend it to at least one full year.

The organization made it clear in a report that the human rights situation in Libya is fraught with danger, with the spread of grave violations committed by armed groups and the persistence of impunity for past violations.

Bashagha: My government will not allow violence

The Head of the parallel government, appointed by the House of Representatives, Fathi Bashagha, said that his government was formed by a Libyan-Libyan decision, as he put it, and it will not allow violence to break out in the country.

In a video speech broadcast by his media office, he said that clinging to power is a type of dictatorship, and that defending it with arms is terrorism.

Al-Ittihad has won the Libyan Premier League title for the second time in a row and the 18th in its history after a 2-1 win against Al-Ahly Tripoli in the final match at the Rades Stadium in Tunisia on Saturday.

Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Adel Jumaa, has denied holding talks in Dubai to negotiate Khalifa Haftar's share in a future government.

Africa Intelligence website revealed in a report Saturday that Haftar's son traveled to Dubai to negotiate with Dbeibah's envoy for several key positions in a reshuffled government.

Jumaa underscored that there was no such meeting, neither with Emirati officials nor from Haftar's side.

Authorities in Ghadames have completed 90% of the reconstruction work at the Dibdab border crossing with Algeria, says Ghadames's Mayor, Qasim Al-Manea.

The remaining procedures will be completed within the next two days, the mayor said, noting that they will hold a meeting with the Algerian side to agree on a mechanism for operating the crossing point and resume the traffic and trade movement between the two countries.

Libyan association welcomes US court conviction of Haftar as war criminal

The Association of the Families of the Martyrs of Volcano of Anger Operation has welcomed the Virginia court ruling, convicting Khalifa Haftar of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The association congratulated the families of the victims with this ruling, which it described as a “historic victory” for their case that affects every human being.

It lauded the efforts of the members of the Libyan-American Alliance, saying; ‘even Libyan institutions charged with the rule of law failed to achieve’.
