UN report unveils Wagner Group’s violations in support of Haftar in Libya

The Guardian has revealed a confidential investigation report of the United Nations covering the period from March 2021 to April 2022, disclosing violations of international law by Russia’s Wagner Group in supporting Khalif Haftar during his war on Tripoli by using mines randomly in civilian areas.

“Russian mercenaries in Libya systematically broke international law by laying mines in civilian areas without any attempt to mark their location or remove the lethal devices,” the UN investigators have found.

Bashagha says he won't enter Tripoli unless conditions are 100% favorable

The Prime Minister-designate, appointed by the House of Representatives (HoR), Fathi Bashagha, told The Associated Press late on Wednesday that he “has no immediate plans to rule from the capital of Tripoli”, saying he has said that he won't enter the capital unless conditions are 100% favorable.

Bashagha added, after his attempted move to Tripoli last week had sparked clashes and fears of a return to widespread civil strife, that his government will work from its headquarters in Sirte.

Sabha Medical Centre receives Chadian casualties following clashes in Chad

Sabha Medical Center says it received Wednesday nine people of Chadian nationality in critical condition after sustaining injuries in armed clashes in Chad.

"The emergency department was overcrowded with foreigners on Wednesday morning, who were wounded in clashes in the Kri area within the Chadian borders," the centre confirmed.

The injuries varied between wounds and fractions, and some had fallen from some great height, according to the emergency staff at the centre.

A million copies of draft constitution printed, Dbeibah disclosed, as he urged people to read the document

Prime Minister Abdu Hamid Dbeibah says there are around one million copies of the draft constitution that have been printed since July 29, 2017, as he called on Libyans to read the document to formalize themselves with the charter.

Speaking to a group of activists campaigning for the electoral path under the slogan "All Libyans are concerned," the PM reaffirmed his readiness to hand over authority to a government formed by a newly elected parliament.
