3,531 Libyan pilgrims to perform Hajj this year

Only 3,531 Libyan pilgrims, including men and women, will attend the Hajj this year due to the precautionary conditions set by the Saudi authorities, an official at the Libyan General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs has confirmed.

The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah, Sabri Al-Bouishi said this year's Hajj season is exceptional.

He explained that the number of pilgrims and the age group is beyond their authority.

A group of 34 migrants stranded in Malta's search and rescue zone have called the non-governmental organization (Alarm Phone) for help, the NOG confirmed.

The emergency hotline NGO receives SOS messages from migrants crossing the Mediterranean before relaying them to the national authorities, depending on their exact location.

In a statement to the Times of Malta, the organization confirmed that the migrants reached out to them after spending Friday night at sea waiting for help.

HCS member: Al-Mishri heads to Cairo at the invitation of the Egyptian Parliament

The High Council of State member, Abdul-Qader Huwaili has confirmed that a delegation from the HCS headed by its president Khaled Al-Mishri will head to Cairo next week, in response to an invitation by the Egyptian Parliament.

In a statement, Huwaili said the delegation will discuss developing relations between the two countries, especially in the constitutional track dialogue between the Libyan parties.

They will also review means to overcome the anticipated obstacles on the path to the planned elections.

Fuel contamination crisis is limited says oil minister

In the wake of a contaminated fuel crisis, Oil and Gas Minister Mohamed Aoun said the issue was limited in scope at some stations.

The Public Prosecutor opened an investigation into the crisis, and the ministry is awaiting the results to take the appropriate measures, minister Aoun said in a statement published by the Hakomitna platform.

He urged patience and not to act in haste until completing the inquest. The crisis left many car owners with heavy repair bills.
