ICRC: Conflict is weakening Libya’s ability to confront climate change

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said that the conflict in Libya has left the country extremely vulnerable to climate variability and is likely to increase the impacts on agricultural production and therefore livelihoods, food and economic security of thousands.

The city of Sirte, controlled by Khalifa Hafatr's militias and mercenaries, has witnessed a surge in kidnappings and arrests, with five people reportedly going missing in just 24 hours.

A source from the city who declined to be named said that Jalul Abdul Salam Jalloul, a faculty member at the University of Sirte, and Al-Fituri Abu Sabbah Gaddafi were the latest to be kidnapped by an armed group.

Al-Ahly Tripoli brushed the Egyptian Pyramids from the top of Group A of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup after beating them 1-0 at the Benina Martyrs Stadium on Sunday, ending their undefeated streak.

Pyramids' defender Omar Jaber handed Al-Ahly Tripoli their win after shooting a ball by mistake in his teams' end in minute 54.

With this victory, Al-Ahly leads the way to the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in Group A with 12 points, followed by the Pyramids with 10 points.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry: Haftar offered Russia Libyan fighters

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said Khalifa Haftar had visited Moscow and promised to send Libyan volunteers to fight alongside Russia in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said it is expected that Russian mercenary group, Wagner, will organize the flights of the Libyan fighters on Russian air force planes.

Dbiebah forms committee for national dialogue on election law and constitutional basis

The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbiebah, instructed the formation of a national committee for national dialogue on election laws and constitutional basis.

Dbiebah said Sunday in a cabinet meeting that holding elections is a national matter that must be done, adding that he wouldn't accept a deal of power under the umbrella of consensus, saying consensus in Libya comes through Libyans by elections.
