Libya warns citizens in Ukraine to remain alert as FM condemns Russian attack

The Libyan embassy in Ukraine has called on its citizens residing in Ukraine to be on alert and not to leave home unless it was highly necessary as Russia started a full-scale attack Thursday morning.

The warning was followed by a tweet from the Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, condemning “Russian attack on Ukraine and asking for retreat and clam”.

Libya withdraws from UN MoU on Women and Peace

Minister of State for Women's Affairs Houria Tarmal has announced Libya's withdrawal from the MoU (1325) on Women and Peace that was signed with the United Nations.

Minister Tarmal sent a letter to the Fatwa House to confirm the withdrawal from the MoU.

On October 8, Tarmal inked an MoU with the UN Women representative on preparing and adopting a national plan to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 for women, peace, and security in Libya.
