Egypt says to reopen embassy and consulate in Libya soon

Egypt said it will reopen its embassy in Tripoli and consulate in Benghazi, as part of boosting diplomatic ties with Libya, very soon.

The announcement came in a meeting for the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi with his Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to follow up on the latter's visit to Tripoli that took place on last Tuesday.

UNSMIL concerned about oil output shutdown at Hariqa port

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) expressed its concern regarding the recent shutdown in oil production at Marsa Al-Hariqa port and indications that other shutdowns may be imminent.

"The uninterrupted production of oil as well as maintaining the independence and impartiality of the NOC remains a vital cornerstone to the economic, social and political stability of Libya." UNSMIL said in a statement on Thursday.

International Follow-up Committee urges HoR to enact elections framework by July 1st

The International Follow-up Committee on Libya reiterated in a statement on Wednesday that the primary task of the interim executive authority and all relevant institutions and authorities of Libya is to ensure holding national parliamentary and presidential elections on 24 December 2021, in accordance with the LPDF Roadmap.

Al-Zanati: WHO must cooperate with Health Ministry for any activities in Libya

Minister of Health Ali Al-Zanati on Wednesday met with the World Health Organization representative in Libya, Elizabeth Hof, to discuss cooperation mechanisms and set the regulations for the mission's work in the country.

A statement by the Health Ministry said that Al-Zanati stressed the need for the WHO mission to coordinate with the Health Ministry before embarking on any activity.

GNU allocates one billion dinars for NOC urgent needs

Minister of Oil and Gas Muhammad Aoun has unveiled that they are sending around 1.048 billion Libyan dinars to the National Oil Corporation (NOC) as part of the 2021 budget.

Aoun assured NOC officials at a meeting on Wednesday that 500 million Libyan dinars have already been transferred to the NOC's account while the rest of the amount will be sent after coordination with the Ministry of Planning, as it is included in line 3 of the budget.

Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah on Wednesday paid a visit to the neighbourhoods of Ain Zara district south of Tripoli to get an insight into the damage caused to the houses and property as a result of Haftar's aggression on Tripoli.

A statement by the GNU information office said that Dbeibah spoke to the local people who voiced their needs and demands for the immediate return to their homes.
