The Libyan Foreign Ministry has welcomed the appointment of the new UN envoy, Jan Kubis, to the country, reiterating commitment to helping him carry out his job in establishing peace and stability via the Libyan dialogue tracks.

The Libyan Foreign Ministry said it "feels good about the new Head of UN Support Mission for his good international reputation as being a foreign minister in Slovakia and afterwards an international figure in different places.

Libya's Presidential Council, Siemens discuss urgent plan to improve electricity services

The Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, discussed with officials from the German company, Siemens, ways to speed up the implementation of power units projects and maintenance at the General Electricity Company of Libya's (GECOL) power plants during next fall.

The discussions were on videoconference in the presence of Siemens CEO and other officials from Libya, including GECOL's Head, and the German company.

Libya leaves "Chan 2021" after losing to Congo Brazzaville 1-0

Libya's national team for local players left the African Championship "Chan 2021" hosted by Cameroon after losing to Congo Brazzaville 1-0, on Monday, for the third round of Group B teams.

The first half ended with a goalless draw before Congo Brazzaville scored the first and only goal in the match at the beginning of the second half.

A Group of MPs reaffirm rejection to regional quota, say it would weaken sovereign institutions

A group of members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have expressed their rejection of the regional and geography quota system to select sovereign positions' occupants.

Around 24 members signed a statement in which they stressed the need to adhere to the competence, integrity and professionalism standards when selecting the occupants of senior positions.
