The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah called Saturday on the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, to instruct Defense Ministry to pay the delayed salaries of the eastern-based members of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) to keep oil exports ongoing and avoid state financial loss.

UN announces new LPDF talks in Geneva starting February 1st

The United Nations announced Friday that a new round of talks for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) would convene on February 01/05 in Geneva.

Stephane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, told reporters in New York that the acting UN envoy, Stephanie Williams, would chair the Geneva talks in which voting on the nominees for the new executive authority will take place.

Filipinos in Libya are hopeful that authorities in Manila would heed their plea for their top diplomat in Tripoli to be allowed to continue serving them. 

Around 1,300 Filipinos across Libya signed a recent petition asking President Rodrigo Duterte to consider extending the tour of duty of Philippine Embassy Chargé d’Affaires and Head of Mission Elmer Cato. 

PC promises to address Filipino concerns in Libya

The Chargé d’Affaires of the Philippine Embassy and Head of Mission Elmer G. Cato has met with Deputy Prime Minister Abdulsalam Kajman to discuss the conditions of the Filipino workers and employees in Libya.

During the meeting on Wednesday, Cato requested the assistance of the Presidential Council in addressing the concerns of members of the Filipino community.

NOC, Total discuss cooperation to develop new oil fields

Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla, has held discussions with the General Manager of Total regarding the use of renewable energies in the Libyan oil sector and the impact of lack of budgets on production, as well as development programs.

This meeting highlighted the implications of the lack of budgets and its effect on providing the urgent needs of maintenance and repair works.
