CBL: 80% of the state's public expenses spent on salaries, subsidized goods and services

Data released by the Central Bank of Libya on Tuesday showed that 80% of the state's public expenditures from the period January 1 to November 30 of 2020 went to the salaries and subsidy for goods and services.

The CBL report revealed that the total oil and sovereign revenues amounted to 4.239 billion dinars during the 11 months of this year, while  24.48 billion dinars were allocated to pay the deficit of financial arrangements.

Turkey's Parliament approves extending troop deployment in Libya 18 months

The Turkish parliament approved on Tuesday a motion calling for an extension in troop deployment in Libya for another 18 months, according to Anadolu Agency.

The proposal was submitted by the Turkish presidency last week, in the light of a request by Libya's UN-recognized Government of National Accord for military assistance.

UNSMIL launches Libyan Political Dialogue Forum's Legal Committee

The Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General (ASRSG) of the United Nations in Libya, Stephanie Williams, launched Tuesday in a virtual meeting the Legal Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF).

According to a statement by UNSMIL, Williams congratulated LPDF participants on the formation of the Legal Committee, saying it marks the start date of the “Preparatory phase for a comprehensive path to national elections.

Libya's HoR adopts Zoom for future meetings

The members of for House of Representatives (HoR), who met earlier this month in Ghadames, held a meeting via Zoom headed by the oldest member Abu Bakr Baira and discussed the modification of HoR internal laws.

The HoR members also adopted Zoom application as a platform for the future meetings as they discussed amending the internal laws as proposed by the relevant committee.

Libyan U-20 team cruise to 1-0 victory over Algeria in North African Championship

The Libyan youth team cruised to a 1-0 victory over his Algerian opponent, on Monday, in the third round of the North African Championship, which paves the way for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (Mauritania 2021).

Algerian player Khalil Bara scored the only goal in the match in his team's net, in minute 19, ending Algeria's hopes to qualify for the continental championship, as they trail at the bottom of the group with just one point from 3 matches.

Italian MP: The government lied about our fishermen in Libya, as they lived horrific situations

An Italian opposition parliamentarian has accused his government of lying about the Sicilian fishermen who were detained in Benghazi.

"The government lied about the issue of the Mazara del Vallo fishermen, and despite assurances about their health conditions in recent months, in response to our questions and protests, the fishermen confirmed that they have gone through horrific situations," the Italian MP Lorenzo Viviani said.
