The spokesman for the Libyan Army under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Mohammed Gununu warned in a statement Thursday the UNSMIL that the GNA wouldn’t accept negotiations under the presence of the foreign mercenaries and their anti-aircraft systems in Sirte.

Libya's national football team lost Wednesday a third-round 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier game 2-3 to Equatorial Guinea at Al-Ahly Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

Equatorial Guinea scored first at the minute 33 in the first half but Libya leveled the score by a penalty from Sanad El-Werfalli at the minute 53 of the match.

The Tripoli Red Castle or Assaraya Al-Hamra (photos), is one of the most important landmarks of the city of Tripoli in Libya, it was so called because some of its parts were painted red. It is located in the northeastern corner of the old city of Tripoli and overlooks Omar Al-Mukhtar and Al-Fatah streets, Tripoli port and the Red Castle Lake, that was previously a sea before it was filled in the 1970s, which enabled it in the past to protect and defend the city by land and sea.

LPDF participants have reached agreement on elections, William says

The Acting Head of the UN mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Williams said on Wednesday that the participants of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), which is being held in Tunisia, have reached an agreement on holding free, fair, inclusive and credible parliamentary and presidential elections, within 18 months.

Williams added in a press conference that the agreement includes steps to unite institutions and to return displaced people.

Libyan Supreme Judicial Council urges Tunisia-based dialogue to leave out judicial posts

The Libyan Supreme Judicial Council has reiterated that the judicial authority should be fully autonomous as per the legislations organizing its work, excluding Article 15 of the Libyan Political Agreement.

The council issued this statement on Wednesday about the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunisia, referring to the previous statement about political dialogues that adopted quotas system for judiciary posts, saying it rejects such a system.
