GNA, Turkey agree to expand economic and development cooperation

The Government of National Accord (GNA) has agreed with the Turkish government to expand cooperation during the next stage in various economic and development fields, a statement by the Presidential Council head media office said on Facebook.

The PC statement came following the meeting that took place, on Sunday, in Istanbul, between the PC Chair, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.

Libyan Dialogue delegations agree on criteria of selecting names for sovereign positions

The Libyan High Council of State (HCS) and House of Representatives (HoR) said the Libyan Dialogue in Bouznika, Morocco had been positive and their two delegations had reached some sort of understanding on criteria for selecting individuals to hold sovereign positions as per (article 15) of Skhirat agreement.

The remarks came in a joint statement by the HoR and HCS in Bouznika after the end of the second round of the Libyan Dialogue.

Human rights body calls for releasing illegally-held detainees

Human Rights Solidarity called for the release of all illegally-held detainees in Libya or those held over security issues, welcoming all efforts to end the arbitrary detention issue in the country.

The Chairman of the human rights body Jumua Al-Ammami told Libya Alahrar TV that civilians shouldn't stand court-martial trials, saying hundreds of detainees had been suffering from torture as many of them are arbitrarily held in custody in jail like Granda, Kuwifiya, military police in Bouhdima, and other secret prisons.

NOC urges Security Council to sanction 19 persons behind oilfields' shutdown

The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) has called on the UN Security Council to slam sanctions on 19 persons involved in the blockade on oil production and exports since last January.

The list sent by the NOC to the Security Council via the Libyan ambassador to the UN Taher El Sonni included military officers, media personalities and tribal leaders. It included Haftar's spokesman Ahmed Al-Mismari for his calls for shutting down oil fields and ports.
