WHO team visits health centres east of Tripoli

The World Health Organization (WHO) office in Libya has conducted a visit to several health centres in the Municipality of Qasr Akhyar of Al Margeb district, east of the capital.

The WHO team toured the Al Amareen PHC Centre, Al Themmaneen PHC Centre, and COVID-19 Isolation Center, according to a statement by the organization on Facebook, on Wednesday.

Lavrov accuses US of hindering appointment of new UN envoy to Libya

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused Wednesday the United States of getting in the way of appointing a new UN envoy to Libya, saying an envoy should be appointed as soon as possible.

In a joint press conference with the Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio, Lavrov said Moscow is with the appointment of a new UN envoy to Libya because the position has been vacant since March.

The Head of Libya’s High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri arrived in Malta for talks with Malta's Foreign Affairs Minister Evarist Bartolo on Wednesday and discussed the state of affairs in Libya.

Times of Malta reported the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Malta as saying that the meeting was being held in the spirit of UN Resolution 2510 that calls on neighbouring countries to support the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and national unity of Libya.

Libyan Dialogue delegations agree on ending transitional phase

The two delegations of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives (HoR) and the Tripoli-based High Council of State (HCS), meeting in Cairo, Egypt, have agreed to end the transitional phase in Libya and start preparations for a permanent phase of governance.

The two delegations said in their final statement that they had discussed holding constitutional referendum and urged the UNSMIL to facilitate an agreement that ensures holding constitutional arrangements that allow activating a comprehensive political agreement.
