Authorities in Sabha urge government to take action towards creeping sand

The Director of the Roads and Bridges Authority in the city of Sabha, Abdullah Ali, has urged state authorities to take swift action to hold off the sand drifting from the "Zulaf" desert region, which is hindering traffic and blocking roads in the area.

Stirring winds has carried sand from the "Zulaf" sand zone south of Barak al-Shati area and blocked the main road between Sabha and the Barak al-Shati.

Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar received on Monday the Libyan Chief of General Staff Mohammad Al-Haddad in Ankara, according to a Turkish Defense Ministry statement.

Akar underlined the importance of the two centuries' old bilateral relationship, saying Ankara will continue to support Libyans to live more comfortably, happier and more safely.

High Council of State reviews Libyan dialogue tracks with GNA's military body

The High Council of State's (HCS) delegation to the Libyan dialogue as well as its Head Khalid Al-Mishri met Monday in Tripoli with senior leaders from the Volcano of Rage Operation of the Government of National Accord (GNA) to discuss dialogue tracks.

HCS media office said the meeting was attended by the commander of joint operations room Osama Juwiali, Tripoli military zone's commander Abdelbasit Marwan and senior leaders of the Volcano of Rage forces.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has announced that the fourth round of the Libyan (5+5) Joint Military Commission (JMC) talks began this morning at the Palais des Nations in Geneva with the presence and participation of the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations (ASRSG) and Head of UNSMIL, Stephanie Williams.

The Head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez Al-Sirraj has dismissed the Minister of Justice Mohammed Lamloum and his deputy from their posts at the human rights' documentation commission.

Al-Sirraj said the deputy head of the commission Khairi Abdel-Aali committed administrative violations and undermined the work of the commission. 

Libyan falconer killed in an Egyptian airstrike while hunting in border area

A young man from Tobruk has been killed in an airstrike operated by the Egyptian air force while he was on a trip for hunting falcons in the desert region, southeast of Libya, the local Bayda media outlet confirmed on Monday.

The incident took place in the desert town of Jaghboub near the Libyan-Egyptian border.

The victim identified to be Abdullah Al-Sheibi is not the first to be killed by the Egyptian air force while practicing this sport in the border area with Egypt.

France, Germany and Poland call for cessation of foreign interference in Libya

France, Germany and Poland have called in a joint statement on Sunday for the necessity of stopping all foreign interference in Libyan affairs, in addition to the full implementation of the arms embargo.

The three European countries also stressed that “there is no military solution to the crisis in the country”.
