Turkey and Russia resume talks for political solution in Libya

Turkey and Russia will hold two-day talks on Libya and Syria to discuss peaceful solutions and end to hostilities, the Turkish Foreign Ministry has announced.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said Ambassador and Deputy Minister Sedat Önal, accompanied by an inter-agency delegation, visited Moscow on August 31 and will remain through September 01, to discuss regional developments, in particular Libya and Syria, with their Russian counterparts.

One foreign worker, from the Philippines, has died after contracting Covid-19 due to mixing with Petroleum Facilities Guard personnel as well as Khalifa Haftar's mercenaries who are moving around in oilfields and facilities in violation of the anti-coronavirus measures adopted by the National Oil Corporation and the Government of National Accord.

Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Al-Mahdi Al-Amin has said his ministry is set to launch the youth employment and training program, in line with the Presidential Council’s decision issued in this regard.

"Those registered as job seekers within the ministry's systems for this year until the 30th of July amount to 128,679," the minister said in a statement published on the ministry's Facebook page, noting that these figures include unemployed people from various regions of the country.

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj met Sunday with a delegation of a number of mayors from Zintan, Msallata, Gharyan, Al-Zahraa, Al-Azizya, Nalut, Hay Al-Andalus, and Abu Salim.

The delegation of mayors reiterated their support for the Government of National Accord amid the ongoing crisis in the country, stressing the need for economic and administrative reforms that can enhance the living conditions for all Libyans, in addition to activating the local governance system.

Arab League, UNSMIL agree on need for permanent ceasefire and ending oil blockade in Libya

The Arab League's Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit and UN acting envoy o Libya Stephanie Williams discussed in Cairo on Sunday the latest developments in Libya, especially the need to reopen oil facilities to resume production and exports.

The Secretary General and the UN envoy agreed on the importance of building on the joint call for the ceasefire declared earlier in the month by the the Government of National Accord and the House of Representatives in eastern Libya, the pan-Arab body said in a statement.
