Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has slammed France's "destructive" approach to the conflict in Libya and accused it of seeking to increase Russian presence there.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in a joint news conference with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto on Tuesday that NATO sees Russia as a threat on the hand, but NATO-ally France is trying to increase Russia's presence in Libya on the other.

Libya's Defense Ministry says it won't allow mercenaries to use oilfields

The Libyan Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that it won't allow mercenaries and criminal gangs to take advantage of oil fields and energy resources in Libya.

The Deputy Defense Minister Salah Al-Namroush said in a statement that energy resources and oil fields and terminals as well as water springs are for Libyans and won't be allowed to fall in the hands of vandals and extortionists as well as mercenaries and criminal gangs.

The Libyan Fatwa House has urged all Libyans to be part of full mobilization and total uprising against what it described as "Russian invasion" in Libya.

The Libyan Fatwa House published a statement issued by the Sharia Research and Studies Council, calling on the Libyan people who are eager to defend their religion and land to be part of full mobilization and total uprising against the Russian invasion of Libyan cities.

Leaked document shows UAE pressure on Washington to intervene in Libya

Turkish channel, TRT World, said it had obtained a document that unveiled pressure exerted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the United States (US) to intervene in Libya and curb Government of National Accord's advances.

TRT World said that the emailed document showed that the UAE's Ambassador to the US, Yousef al Otaiba, emphasized in a letter to US officials that "unless Turkey's actions in Libya are checked, this could easily go from bad to worse".

Health workers in Ghat conclude workshop on Covid-19 response

Ghat Municipality has concluded a workshop on Covid-19 response, under the supervision of the emergency department of the Ministry of Health.

The three-day workshop was intended for medical staff and healthcare workers at Ghat's General Hospital and health centers in the municipality.

Those who took part, learned about basic hygiene measures and how to protect oneself against infection, including the correct way to use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Boy survives after stray bullet struck his head in social event

Doctors at the Tripoli University Hospital have succeeded in removing a bullet from the head of a nine-year-old child who was injured during a social event, despite the orders banning such events on the background of the Coronavirus outbreak.

The hospital stated that the bullet pierced the child's head hitting a sensitive area and almost took his life.

The child was transferred to the hospital where he was rushed to the operating theater to undergo an urgent operation to have the bullet removed.

The number of COVID-19 infections in Libya has risen to 802, with 573 active cases.

The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded Monday 40 new cases distributed as following:

  1. Sabha: 35 cases
  2. Tripoli: 3 cases
  3. Ghat: 1 case
  4. Jufra: 1 case

 

NCDC also confirmed the recovery of 10 patients, raising the number of recoveries to 206.

Libya, EU discuss enhancing cooperation in immigration file

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, Salah El-Din El-Namroush has agreed with the European Ambassador, Alan Bugeja on the necessity to cooperate in the immigration file.

At a meeting on Monday, the two sides agreed that Libya and the EU could work together to curb the flow of illegal immigrants to southern Europe while taking into account their humanitarian situation.
