The Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri has called on the UNSMIL to put off the Geneva political talks, which are supposed to be held on Wednesday, until military talks end and bring about some progress, saying HCS will decide on taking part it according to the military dialogue's results.
Al-Mishri said in a press conference on Monday that if the UNSMIL insisted to hold the talks before the final results of the military talks, then the HCS won't abide by them.
The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj said the human rights violations in Libya are leading to deteriorating of humanitarian conditions, displaying at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) a banner of photos for HoR member Siham Sergiwa, Military College cadets and prisoners executed by Mahmoud Al-Werfalli.
UNSMIL said in a statement Monday that a second round of the 5+5 Libyan Joint Military Commission (JMC) talks concluded on February 23 at the Palace of Nations in Geneva in the presence of UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame
UNSMIL said the JMC is one of the three tracks which it is working on, in addition to the economic and political tracks, calling upon the two parties to reach a lasting ceasefire agreement.
The Libyan Businesspersons Council said the Libyan-Algerian Economic Gathering is going to kick off on March 02 and concludes March 05 under the auspices of Algeria's Minister of Commerce.
