UN envoy to Libya briefs Security Council on violations of ceasefire

The UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame said in his briefing at the Security Council on Thursday that ceasefire in Libya remained ink on paper as artillery shelling exchanges increased lately between the two sides of the conflict, adding that Haftar's forces attacked Libyan Army forces under the command of Government of National Accord (GNA) in Al-Wishka, using all kinds of weapons, including drones.

The Libyan ambassador to the United Nations, Taher El Sonni, has responded to France's ambassador to the UN after her speech at the Security Council meeting on Libya by saying that Paris had been named in UN reports as a violator of the arms embargo in Libya, especially by providing Haftar with Javelin missiles.

El Sonni told the French ambassador: "Did France get permission from the Security Council to give Haftar Javelin missiles?"

Foreign Ministry asks Libyans to avoid traveling to China

The Libyan Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that Libyans should avoid traveling to China due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus in the Asian country.

The statement urged Libyans to delay their travels to China of their business in there isn't highly necessary, urging the Libyans already living in China to be careful and not to go to crowded places to avoid coming down with the virus.

Al-Mishri, Italian ambassador discuss EU's stance on Libya-Turkey MoUs

The Head of the Libyan High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri discussed Tuesday in Tripoli with the Italian ambassador Giuseppe Buccino the developments of the Libyan crisis and the upcoming military and political dialogues.

The two officials also talked about the violations of the ceasefire by Khalifa Haftar's forces and their lack of commitment to the Berlin conference conclusions.

UK calls for ending closure of oil facilities in Libya

The Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for Middle East and North Africa Affairs Andrew Murrison said Tuesday the oil blockade in eastern Libya must stop.

UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said Murrison met the Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah and they agreed that the oil blockade in eastern Libya is harming the Libyan economy.
