Tunisian Foreign Minister reiterates support for political solution in Libya

The Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis Jhinaoui renewed Thursday his country's support to UN and Libyan efforts to end the conflict in the country, saying there can be no military solution in Libya.

Jhinaoui met with Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala in Tunis and said his country will continue to convince active stakeholders in Libya to help the country end the military conflict and return to political process.

US ambassador presents his credentials to Libya's Foreign Minister

The new United States ambassador to Libya Richard Norland presented Thursday his credentials to the Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala at the Libyan embassy in Tunisia.

Norland has stressed to Sayala that he will be in contact through diplomatic channels with all parties to the conflict in order to reach a speedy end of the crisis.

He said the US supports a ceasefire and a negotiated political resolution for the Libyan conflict.

Al-Sarraj reaffirms defending Tripoli and rejection of dialogue with Haftar

The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj has renewed his rejection of any dialogue with Khalifa Haftar and said the battle to defend Tripoli is continuing.

The media office of Al-Sirraj denied media reports about calls attributed to Al-Sarraj about the return to dialogue with Haftar and the halt of defending Tripoli against his forces.

More than 90 people hospitalized for food poisoning in Abyar south of Benghazi

The National Center for Disease Control said that more than 90 people have been hospitalized for food poisoning in southern Benghazi.

"Abyar Hospital has received more than 90 cases of food poisoning, including children, women, and men," the centre confirmed.

The supervisor of the monitoring unit in the National Center for Disease Control of Abyar branch, Ali Abuhdma explained that the patients began experiencing symptoms of poisoning after ordering from a restaurant in the city.
