Foreign Minister, Mohamed Sayala has called on the Japanese authorities to consider reopening their embassy in Tripoli.
Sayala also called during his meeting with the President of the Japanese House of Councillors, Akiko Santo in Tokyo for the return of the Japanese companies in Libya to resume their work.
The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj met Tuesday wit the new commander of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) Stephan Townsend, accompanied by the new U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland in the Tunisian capital.
AFRICOM said in a statement that discussions included the security environment, the importance of addressing the existing violent extremist organization threat, and the need to resolve the conflict in Libya.
Terrorist sleeper cells affiliated with Khalifa Haftar's forces have been depicted in Tripoli trying to cover for failure to enter the capital by targeting officials, journalists and bloggers inside Tripoli.
Recent actions by those sleeper cells include targeting the house of the member of Constitution Drafting Assembly Itimad Al-Misillati in Ain Zara in southern Tripoli on Monday, damaging cars for her family.
The Libyan coastguards said Tuesday it had rescued 65 illegal immigrants off Al-Khums shores and managed to recover 5 bodies, adding that between 15 and 20 others are missing.
The coastguards said that the capsized boat was carrying about 90 illegal immigrants.
They added that the five bodies were for a Moroccan woman, Moroccan man, Moroccan child, one Sudanese and one Somali man.
