Haftar's "Zero Hour" to enter Libya's capital foiled by Libyan Army

Khalifa Haftar's forces have announced "Zero Hour" to launch an all-out offensive on Tripoli and try once again to enter the capital, but the forces have been met with fierce defense by the Libyan Army forces under the command of Presidential Council's government.

Frontlines saw the "Zero Hour" clashes start at 9.00am in the morning on Monday with Haftar's forces attacking - with air cover - Libyan Army positions on four frontlines, concentrating on Khallit Al-Furjan since it's the closest to Tripoli's city center.

Targets and positions for Khalifa Haftar's forces on different fighting frontlines have been targeted with heavy bombardment by the Libyan Air Force of the Presidential Council's government over the last few days, according to a source at the Burkan Al-Ghadab (Volcano of Rage) Operation.

Airstrikes' aims included Haftar's forces positions in Al-Asaba, Al-Shweirif, Al-Jufra and southern Tripoli frontlines, the source explained.

Economy Ministry prohibits importation of incandescent lamps

Minister of Economy Ali Esawi has issued an order banning the importation of incandescent lamps, a step that aims to ration electricity consumption.

The order was welcomed by the General Electricity Company of Libya, calling on all importers and concerned authorities to put this order into force immediately.

The Electricity Company called for importation of energy-saving lamps to reduce energy consumption as the country’s outage crisis deepens.

Libya's HoR: "Renegade Haftar" guilty of abducting MP Sirgiwa

The Tripoli-based House of Representatives (HoR) said Sunday that "renegade Khalifa Haftar" is legally and morally responsible for the kidnapping of the HoR member Siham Sirgiwa.

The HoR said it was following closely the development of the kidnap incident and called on all security apparatuses as well as the executive authority departments, elders and civil societies in Benghazi to double their efforts to release her and protect her against any assaults.

Libya's Justice Ministry says release of last Gaddafi PM is "temporary"

The controversial release of the last prime minister of the Muammar Gaddafi regime, Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi, has been rendered as temporary by the spokesman for the Libyan Justice Ministry of the Presidential Council's government Mohammed Hammuda.

Hammuda told reporters that Al-Mahmoudi's release is conditional to his recovery as he would be sent abroad, or remain in Libya, for medical treatment.

Head of Food and Drug Control Center under arrest, authorities confirm

Tripoli Security Directorate said on Saturday that the Chairman of Food and Drug Control Center Mohammed Al-Mishai is under arrest, denying social media reports of his abduction.

The Directorate explained that Al-Mishai is being investigated over charges of corruption and looting of public funds, lodged by the director of administrative affairs of the center.
