One person was killed in an indiscriminate shelling on Souq Joma’a neighbourhood of Tripoli on Monday night.

Grad rockets fell on Hajarsa area of the neighbourhood causing damage to people's houses.

Grad rockets also hit Mitiga Airport causing panic among the pilgrims waiting for their flight to Mecca.

Eastward, Grad rockets also hit Abi Lasher School in Tajoura neighbourhood near Mitiga Airport.

Sarraj reviews relations with Turkish Ambassador to Libya

Chairman of Presidential Council Fayez Sarraj received Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Serhat Aksen, in his office in Tripoli on Monday.

The meeting reviewed the two countries’ relations, in addition to the current situations in Tripoli.  

Ambassador Serhat renewed his country's support for the Government of National Accord and its position in defence of Tripoli against the attack of warlord Khalifa Haftar.

Airstrike by Haftar's warplanes on medical staffers kills one paramedic

Paramedic Abdulhafid Abu Dariya has been killed by an airstrike by Khalifa Haftar's warplane on an ambulance Abu Dariya was driving on Wadi Rabea frontline in southern Tripoli, the head of the crises committee of Health Ministry Fawzi Awnis said on Monday.

Awnis told reporters that the paramedic was targeted by the airstrike while he was on duty, adding that he was driving far from the clashes' zone and military positions.

France's Foreign Ministry denies providing Haftar's forces with Javelin missiles

The French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has denied that his country has made any deals to sell the Javelin missiles that were found in Gharyan to any Libyan local armed group.

In a letter to the Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala on Monday, Le Drian said the missiles found in Gharyan are for the French Army which bought them from the US.

"Paris is fully respecting the UN arms embargo on Libya and keen on preserving Libyan sovereignty." Le Drian said in the letter.

UN envoy to Libya requests a truce in Tripoli during Eid Al-Adha

The Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Ghassan Salame has called for a ceasefire truce in Tripoli during the upcoming Eid Al-Adha (Around "August 10-14").

In his briefing at the UN Security Council on Monday, Salame said the truce should be accompanied by an exchange of prisoners and remains as well as the release of detainees.

UNICEF has condemned the latest shelling on Al-Alamain school in Tripoli on Saturday.

In a thread on Twitter, the UNICEF said the children and the teachers were not at school during the time of the incident, as the academic year has ended on the 17th of July.

Sputnik: Two Ukrainian cargo planes destroyed in Libya's Army airstrikes on Al-Jufra airbase

Russian news agency Sputnik said Sunday that Libyan Army on Al-Jufra airbase destroyed two Ukrainian cargo planes (Il-76) used by Khalifa Haftar's forces in their Tripoli offensive.

The airstrikes on the airbase also destroyed a number of planes and military equipment, Sputnik said.

Libya's Presidential Council condemns airstrike on field hospital in southern Tripoli

The Presidential Council of Libya has condemned in a statement the airstrike on a field hospital in southern Tripoli, where five medics have been killed and eight others injured.

The statement on Sunday said the targeting of hospitals and civilian properties and facilities have become systematic saying it is a violation of the international humanitarian law, human rights laws and is a war crime.
