Libya's Foreign Minister attends preparatory meeting of OIC summit

The Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday and met with his Saudi counterpart Ibrahim Al-Assaf to discuss the mutual relations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit's schedule, Saudi Arabian news agency said.

This is the first meeting for a Libyan Presidential Council's government official and a Saudi official in Saudi Arabia since Khalifa Haftar, who is backed by the Saudis, has launched his April attack on Tripoli.

Misrata operations room busts ISIS terrorist

Libyan Misrata operations room has arrested a man suspected of terrorist acts and of being part of ISIS groups.

A force from the operations room raided a house in Abu Grein in southern Misrata and detained the militant after an arrest warrant for him was issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The room explained on Thursday that Fares Belhaj (A.K.A. Khattab) was apprehended on Monday in Abu Grein in coordination with central region's criminal investigation apparatus.

Al-Sarraj reiterates need to keep civilians in clashes' zones secure

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al- Sarraj said measures to keep civilians secure and public and private properties out of the damage scope are being taken, saying captured fighters from Khalifa Haftar's forces should be treated well.

Al- Sarraj's remarks came in a Wednesday meeting with Libyan Chief of Staff Mohammed Al-Sharif in the presence of military commanders of Tripoli, central region, and western region.

Al-Sarraj: Trusting Haftar was a big mistake

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj said trusting Khalifa Haftar was a big mistake and the latter's attack on Tripoli was a stab in the back.

Al-Sarraj told Radio Télévision Suisse that there is no way for negotiations with Haftar and Libya's partition is something of a red line that cannot be crossed.

"I'm going to give power and authority of Libya to my successors as a whole not as a divided country." He remarked.
