UN envoy to Libya says division within international community about Libya deepens Libya's fragmentation

The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, has expressed concern about the ongoing fighting in Tripoli and the division within the international community about Libya, saying "if Libyans are divided, then it would be better if the international community were more united."

In a presser with the Italian Foreign Minister, Enzo Moavero Milanesi in Rome, Salame said it is possible to deescalate in Libya but "we need to stop the influx of new weapons and avoid any direct interventions by certain countries."

Libya's Presidential Council Spokesman: No dialogue until attacking forces are defeated

The spokesman for the Presidential Council (PC) Muhannd Younis said the Head of the PC, Fayez Al-Sarraj is supervising the fighting against "Khalifa Haftar's militias" as there would be no dialogue until they are defeated.

In a presser on Wednesday, the spokesman said a ceasefire or a political solution won't take place until the attacking forces are defeated, saying any new dialogue shall have new principles.

Libya's Presidential Council's Head accuses France of backing up "dictator Haftar"

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj has accused France of supporting warlord" Khalifa Haftar who started an offensive on April 04 on Tripoli.

In an interview with French newspaper Leberation, Al-Sarraj said Libyans were surprised to see France backing up a dictator.
