Libya’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Sadiq Al-Gharyani said on Wednesday he would back the UN-sponsored National Conference, slated for mid-April, if only the UN mission in Libya publish the details and logistic arrangements in advance.
“The UNSMIL should from now publish all the details regarding the National Conference and names of the participants,” he said in his weekly Islam and Life program on Tanasuh TV.
The commander of the Libyan self-styled army in the eastern region Khalifa Haftar arrived on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia and met with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to discuss the latest development in Libya, Saudi News Agency has reported.
It added that King Salman reiterated to Haftar the keenness of Saudi Arabia on the stability and security of Libya and the prosperity of its people.
The agency indicated that they also talked about the current developments in Libya.
Jordanian authorities have found the body of the son of the ambassador of Libya to Jordan Mohammed Al-Barghathi in Abdoon in Amman.
Hassan Al-Barghathi - 22 - was found on Wednesday less than 24 hours after his father had informed the police of his disappearance.
Sources added that the body was found with a gunshot in the head in a car 500 meters away from the UK's embassy building in Amman.
