Minister of Education, Othman Abdul Jalil discussed with Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Grimaldi means to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two countries in the field of education.
Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) and Italian oil major Eni signed on March 25 two memoranda of understanding (MoU), at NOC’s Tripoli headquarters. The first concerned the establishment of a steering committee to expedite gas production at structures ‘A’ and ‘E’ within maritime concession MN 41 in the Sabratha marine basin.
The UK ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker, has reiterated his country's support for the Presidential Council and commitment to the democratic process that leads to elections in Libya.
The remarks came on Thursday in a meeting in Tripoli with the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj, whom bid Baker farewell after his term had ended.
Members of the High Council of State (HCS) demanded on Thursday that the Libyan National Conference (Multaqa Al-Watani) include the approved voting of the committee that passed the constitution with a majority of more than two thirds of voters and thus consider the constitution approved without any referendum.
The 34 members called also in a statement for making the House of Representatives and HCS committed to the approval of the constitution.
The United Nations envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, said there are 10 countries intervening in Libya, adding that he is working with the UN Secretary General to take the necessary measures to stop such interventions.
Speaking to Al-Jazeera TV on Wednesday, Salame said there are foreign countries supplying arms to different Libyan parties despite the UN arms embargo on the country.
