Al-Sarraj tells Arab League summit that there can be no totalitarian or military rule in Libya

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj said in his speech at the Tunisia-hosted Arab League summit that his government will always support and work for peaceful solutions in Libya and won't allow the return of a totalitarian or military rule in the county.

"Allowing the military or totalitarian rule in Libya is a red line." Al-Sarraj said on Sunday.

The UN Secretary-General António Guterres said there are indications that the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj and the commander of the self-styled army in eastern Libya Khalifa Haftar could reach an agreement on the conflict for the army command.

Libya holds municipal elections in 9 areas

The Libyan Central Commission for Municipal Councils Elections (CCMCE) said 9 municipalities saw voting on Saturday, adding that since 8.00 PM on the same day the personnel had been sorting out the votes, expecting to announce the results starting from Sunday.

The CCMCE said the turnout in the 9 municipalities reached about 40% of the registered voters.

The 9 municipalities are Wadi Utba, Bent Baya, Zuwara, Batin Al-Jabal, Al-Qalaa, Al-Riyana, Nalut, Al-Hawamid, and Ghadames.

Tabu tribe calls for an international investigation into violations against them

Components of the Tabu tribe demanded in a statement the release of their abducted sons immediately and unconditionally, calling on the Security Council and the international community to intervene urgently, to protect civilians and form an international commission, in order to investigate violations in the city of Murzuk, in accordance with international legislation and charters.
