Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade: Weak ceasefire agreement caused renewed clashes

The senior leader at the Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade Atif Bergig said lack of real settlement and compromise for the previous clashes in Tripoli in August 2018 sparked a new war and violated the ceasefire.

Speaking to a local media outlet, Bergig said the security arrangements that were approved in Al-Zawiya under the auspices of the UNSMIL had not been implemented well, except for the return of armed formations to their positions.

Tripoli Protection Force disobeys Libya's Presidential Council

The Tripoli Protection Force said in a statement on Thursday that it no longer obeys the orders of the Presidential Council and will do so only if the decisions are taken unanimously by all members.

The statement clarifies that the armed brigades, which operate under the Interior Ministry, won't follow orders from the PC, calling it a conflicting entity, asking for unity in taking decisions

International meeting to support Libya's Interior Ministry under UNSMIL's auspices

The UNSMIL has held a meeting in Tripoli to review the plans of the Libyan Interior Ministry for security status and to provide the needed support for it.

The meeting was attended by the Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha and several representatives and ambassadors of foreign countries.

UNSMIL explained on Twitter that Bashagha reviewed the security status and the plans to enhance it as well as the necessary equipment needed on the ground.
