Libya's Foreign Bank wins lawsuit against Tunisia’s LMS over debt

A court in Tunisia has delivered its final verdict ruling in favour of the Libyan Foreign Bank over Tunisia’s LMS International Trading Company.

The Tunisian Court of Appeal dropped claims of LMS that the Libyan Foreign Bank had failed to pay off millions of dollars in debt.

The legal fight started when LMS filed a lawsuit against the Libyan Foreign Bank in the Tunisian Court of First Instance, alleging unpaid debt of over $ 108.700 million.

The General Electricity Company (GECOL) has warned of renewed power cuts in the country during this summer.

Speaking in a press conference in Tripoli on Wednesday night, the director of the GECOL, Abdul-Majeed Hamza, said the country’s current power output stands at 6000 MW. He expected the demand for power this summer will reach 7000 MW with a power deficit of 1000 MW.

Tawergha civil societies set date for IDPs return to forsaken city

Civil societies in Tawergha have confirmed that the statement of the full return of the city's IDPs to their houses will be announced on Ramadan 27 in the presence of official authorities.

In a statement, the civil societies said they talked with the "Who Enters Tawergha is Safe" organizers in Misrata city.

Taekwondo fighters from Abdul-Jaleel Martyrs’ Club in Janzour, accompanied with their fathers, paid a visit to Tawergha IDPs camp in Sawani Road to distribute food basket for the displaced families on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

During the visit, the Taekwondo fighters showed off their skills and distributed toys to the children, who were deeply enjoyed by the show

The visit we appreciated by the Tawerghans, who have been living in camps since 2011.

New initiative to resolve Libya's political deadlock devised by Fatwa House

The Islamic Research and Studies Council (IRSC) of the Libyan Fatwa House has welcomed a new initiative by some political activists that aims at bringing the current political entanglement to an end and regain stability in the country.

"Out of 60 different proposals for the initiative from different well versed activists, the IRSC picked one that would be of great benefit for the country and the citizens." The Libyan Mufti, Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani, said on Wednesday in his weekly program on Tanasuh TV.

Famous writer abducted in Libya’s Benghazi

Libyan writer and civil society activist Jaber Al-Obaidi was kidnapped in the eastern city of Benghazi on Tuesday.

While his whereabouts remained unknown, social media activists and friends of Al-Obaidi pointed the finger at a militia group affiliated with Benghazi Security Department.

According to sources, Al-Obaidi is a critic of UAE interference in the country and the influence of the Salafists groups “Madkhalis” within Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled Libyan national army.
