Suicide bombing rocks Sidra checkpoint at oil crescent region

A suicide bomber blew himself up at a checkpoint for a security patrol at the entrance of Sidra oil terminal at the oil crescent region.

According to local media outlets, the bomber first attack the checkpoint by a car bomb, but when it failed to detonate, he got out of the car and exploded himself as he was wearing an explosive belt.

Misrata, Tawergha sign peace agreement

The final reconciliation agreement, reached by the joint reconciliation committee of  Misrata and Tawergha, was officially endorsed in Tripoli on Monday, a move that would allow thousands of Tawerghan IDPs to return to their ghost town after more than six years of displacement.

The agreement was signed by mayor of Misrata Mohammed Eshtiwai, head of Tawergha Local Council Abdul-Rahman Shikmak and head of UN-installed Presidency Council Fayaz Sirraj.

Sudanese government has renewed its call for putting an end to the support and safe haven provided to the Sudanese rebel groups by eastern military man Khalifa Haftar.

The Sudanese Media Minister and spokesman of the government, Ahmed Bilal Othman, told the Sudanese Center for Press Services that the support of Haftar and his eastern Libyan forces for the Sudanese rebel groups from Darfur is a reward for rebels that allows them to work more on destabilizing the region.

NCHRL condemns European Parliament President's call for setting up refugee camps in Libya

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) expressed anger on Saturday about the call of the European Parliament's President, Antonio Tajani, for setting up refugee camps in Libya.

In a statement, the NCHRL condemned Tajani's statements that he made to Italian newspaper, Il Giornale, voicing dismay at the EU attempts to settle immigrants in Libya and prioritize Europe's interests to those of Libya's national security.
