Suicide incidents are sweeping Bayda city in east Libya

Three people were rescued from a suicide attempt in the past two days in Bayda, a local hospital reported on Monday, as mysterious phenomenon of suicide incidents are sweeping the east part of the country.

One of them is of a student of human medicine in Omar Al-Mukhtar University, while two other cases were of a 16 and 15 year old teenagers who made an attempt to hang themselves, as reported by Al-Thawra Central Hospital.

Eastern fatwa commission says CBL's $400 transactions for family members haram

The High Commission for Fatwa of the eastern government, which is chaired by Abdullah Al-Thanni, has issued a fatwa saying that it is forbidden by Islam to accept the transactions of $400 for each members of every Libyan family that was issued by the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) in Tripoli.

"The CBL's offer is usury and thus is haram by Islamic Shraia law." Al-Thanni's Fatwa Commission said.

Tarhouna municipality condemns media escalation of recent unrest in the city

The city of Tarhouna is stable and secure, the municipality of the city emphasized on Tuesday, saying what happens in Tarhouna stays in Tarhouna.

In a statement on Tuesday, the municipality condemned the escalation policy used y media outlets, and the social council of Bani Walid, not to mention the urge for division by pro-Bani Walid and Wirshiffana media outlets, saying it blames all of those for any legal and social consequences.

NOC Chief: Libya lost millions of dollars due to oilfields shutdown

The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah, has disclosed that shutting down Sharara and Al-Wafaa oilfields was coordinated and planned by state official figures aiming to attain political and financial gains, adding that the militias that are seen by the public as the ones closing the fields are no more than a means to an end.
